June 2009

This month Gary's dad came down to pic up Hunter and his cousin for a month in WV and he stayed overnight with us so he could spend time with Shawn and Peyton.

It was two firsts for Peyton, meeting her paw paw and going to the beach both of which she loved !

We got to watch the sun go down and it was too beautiful not to share...

Shawn missed Hunter the whole 3 weeks he was away he asked about him nonstop and knocked on his door every morning it was so sweet.

This month we gave Peyton her first cookie

and this is what happened after she dropped it, I am thinking she likes them lol

Shawn was so excited when I put her in the tub with him he kept smiling and looking at her and then he tried to help wash her hair and she ended up with a cup of water over her head.

The Month of May

This month Peyton had her first solid food...rice cereal...and she LOVED it !


Hunter and his little sister, he loves her so much !


Gary not thinking into the future bought Shawn some lightening McQueen rain boots, he meant well but I foresaw the future and knew what was to come....

Here is Shawn wearing his rain boots that he wears pretty much everyday and would wear them to bed and in the shower if we let him.

Soo also this month I did the mean mommy thing and took Peyton to get her ears pierced...

obviously she wasn't thrilled but she was fine in a matter of minutes, I was sick to my stomach because you go thinking its such a cute thing and then they tell you sit here and hold her arms and her head so she can't move and you realize okay maybe not as fun as I originally thought!

But once it was over and done with it wasn't so bad she is fine and her ears looks soooo cute !

Here is what Shawn did while we got Peytons ears pierced....this was while we were waiting and then once her ears where all done I look down and the other arm is completely decked out in about 10 bracelets and I thought the lady was going to have a heart attack because he had both arms full and he kept walking out the door lol !

well that was the month of May.

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Hunter turned 10 on the 21st !!!!

On his actual Birthday we did cake and presents just the 5 of us, he wanted choc. cake so I made the Hershey's perfect choc cake it is the best recipe...we all ate it that whole week for breakfast lunch and dinner lol !

Then on the weekend we let him invite a few friends over for a sleepover and it ended up being a PlayStation2 marathon lol, they barely stopped to eat !

Hunter had a great time but me and Gary learned a good lesson next time we do a sleepover to consume lots of caffeine and drop our other kids off at a grandmothers house lol !

This past week....

Instead of writing 3 or 4 blogs I will just do one....this week has not been fun....first Gary and I were sick all of Easter weekend, the Easter bunny almost didn't come...I didn't even get pics of the kids with their baskets and we were way to sick to go to church.

I didn't get sick until Saturday night so I did get to take the kids to the Church Easter egg hunt and the kids had a good time, Hunter won a big basket and Shawn ran around with kids he only got 2 eggs because it scared him when everyone was running around screaming for eggs lol !

Then Monday Shawn ran into the front door and broke his tooth in half, Tuesday morning we got an appt and they said he had to come back that afternoon and get it pulled and he had some bottle rot on his top teeth and said the same would happen to the other one also so I told them to pull them both, it definitely went down in history as the worst thing I have ever experienced they strapped his hands down and then wrapped him in this velcro body wrap from his neck to his ankles and I had to watch my poor baby go thru this it was AWFUL I thought I was going to be sick....when it was all done and I am getting in the car I discover I left my lights on and the battery was dead...of course !

For the rest of the week he went thru binky withdrawals...the first day he asked a lot but then gradually it was just once in awhile until what I call the "MELTDOWN" when he flipped out and trashed my diaper bag saying "its in the bag mommy its in the bag, just get it mommy its in the bag" after he got that out of his system he is much better only asking out of habit now and then.

The rest of the week didn't go any better....here's hoping next week will be different...

Feeding the Ducks

We were getting cabin fever so we went off to find some ducks to feed and we found some right down the street!

Shawn went thru his bread in about 2 throws

and Hunter didn't want to leave so he kept tearing the bread into tiny tiny pieces lol

we had an odd assortment of birds that came when they saw bread, it was a duck, a swan, and this little black bird that would stay in the tree until a piece came close enough were he could run for it then get back in the tree

Poor Peyton it was so windy that it took her breath away lol I tried to put her facing away from the wind but it was no use so we had to leave

We will have to go back when its not so windy...

Apparently I point more often than I think I do so I only have myself to blame for the wonderful phase my son is going thru also who ever invented terrible two's I could share some blame with them.

and last but not least "Shawn watcha doin? and his response (obviously his pointing finger must have been tired from all that pointing so he just pretends to shoot me with a water hose attachment!)

So far so good on the patience get back to me in a week and we'll see if I still have any lol !

Azeala Festival 2009

I was looking forward to going as a family to the parade since Shawn loved it so much last year and I ended up getting the worst migraine the night before and spent the weekend laying down or "in the bathroom" (its probably allergies bringing them on) and missed the parade, I felt a tiny bit better halfway thru Saturday (until I got in the car lol) and we went down to the Azalea Festival.

The Festival was the saddest...you could see we are definitely in a recession I don't think I have ever been able to walk around down there without bumping into someone or being in hundreds of peoples personal space and this year we could actually let Shawn walk, normally if you put a small child down to walk they are instantly gone in the sea of people...not the case this year.
Of course that didn't stop us from enjoying some Funnel cakes and caramel apples and Shawn did enjoy running around the closed down streets!
