Happy 9th Hunter !

Hunter turned 9 on the 21st !!!
He had a friend sleepover and we took them to the arcade and rented movies they had so much fun.
Then on Sunday we had Mimi come over and we sang Happy Birthday and let him open presents.

we tricked him with the bike...Gary told him to go pick up his trash in the yard lol

And we surprised him with his own MP3 player

After presents we sang Happy Birthday

and we taught Shawn how to blow out candles

Hunter isn't a huge fan of traditional Birthday cake so I made him an Oreo pie !

It was delicious !!

Potty Time...

I bought Shawn a potty just to start making him aware of it and practice and the first potty was a kids sit down potty and he didn't like it so I brought it back (it was unused) and let him pick his potty he picked the one that sits in the toilet they had a white one and a sesame street one and surprisingly he said no to the sesame street one and yes to the plain one !!!

So here he is trying out his new potty..




I think he liked putting the whole roll of toilet paper in the toilet more than the potty lol !!

Just a little update Shawn has been saying "where'd it go?" and "I don't know" I asked him where Hunter was yesterday and he said "I don't know " it was so cute !!

Its Azeala festival time !!!!

Every year they block off all the roads in downtown Wilmington and set up lots and lots of craft booths like woodcraft and handmade jewelery and booths for advertising a local business and that sort of thing.

This is the food part, tons and tons of booths with yummy stuff like funnel cakes or as I like to call it "fried dough", sausages, gyros, huge turkey legs, cheese fries, and bloomin onions......
We purposely ate sandwiches at home so we could fill up on fried dough..or at least thats why I ate at home..lol!

Hunter loves the kidzone...its a bunch of different things for kids to do and its all free !

We were loading up the truck to go home and Shawn was still snoozing

We all had a lot of fun...until we went home with our newly purchased marshmallow guns...Gary's idea....and the boys shot each other with marshmallow guns all afternoon and of course they thought it would be funny to get mom in on the action...mom thought different....Shawn and Kalee enjoyed following them and eating all the stray marshmallows though.

The Azeala Parade

Shawn and I went to the Parade this morning...I tried to get Gary and Hunter to go but I don't think they were too excited about going so me and Shawn headed out.

Shawn wasn't sure what to think of the parade he just kept looking at me like where are we?
He loved the marching bands though, everytime they went by he would dance.

Every year they ask a celebrity to be the queen and this year was Barbara Alyn Wood she is also on "One Tree Hill".
The parade was a little too long since they apparently have a pageant for every category under the sun like:
Miss greater North Carolina
mini miss greater north carolina
petite miss north carolina
little miss north carolina
tiny miss north carolina
4th of July queen
Christmas queen
carolina senior sweetheart queen
peanut festival queen
miss castle hayne
spot festival queen
grape festival queen

and thats not even half of them so we had to sit thru all these girls on floats and in cars plus sponsors and clowns and military police it was a loooong parade...I think from now on we will just watch the first hour and then go home.

The boys first concert !!!!!

Its that time of year again.......Azeala Festival !!!!!
Every year they have concerts and parades and the circus comes to town, this year the concert was Colbie Caillat with special guest opener Michelle Branch so we had to go.
Our seats were really good we sat up in the balcony and personally I think they were better than the floor seats.

This is Hilarie Burton she was one of the celebrity guests for the festival and she plays Peyton my favorite character on One Tree Hill....at intermission I ran down and met her !!!

Shawn was a champ he stood there and danced to almost all the songs...

halfway thru the second half he got sleepy so I rocked him and he passed out after 2 songs and slept thru the rest of the concert.

It was such a great concert we all loved it !!

Gary's brother was on leave for a few weeks so we drove up to see him and visit everyone!

Trying to look innocent..

We had such a great time lounging around and spending time together, the boys mostly stayed outside and did manly bonding lol, it was a perfect weekend I have to say!
We left Monday and made great time on the way we would have made it in 6 hours but we got really hungry at 9pm and finally found restaurants other than drive thru at 10pm and relaxed and had a great dinner at Chili's...it was sooo good!
we ended up getting home at 2am but the dinner was worth it !!
